CERTIFICATION MEETING AGENDA

    1. Mr. Charles Patten, Chairperson: present

  • Public Comments
    1. Dr. Steve Hersey talked to Mrs. Rudolph about the vacancy left by the passing of Commissioner McElhenney. He was confused on how we will hold a Special Primary and Special Election at the same time and hoped that we would be discussing that at the meeting tonight.
  1. Approval of Agenda
    1. Ms. Webb moved to approve the agenda.
    2. Mr. Walden seconded the motion.
    3. Vote: all in favor.
  2. Approval of Minutes-May 21, 2024
    1. Mr. Forrester moved to approve the minutes.
    2. Mr. Walden seconded the motion.
    3. Vote: all in favor
  3. Discussion Items
    1. Provisional ballot
      1. Mrs. Rudolph advised that the Board reject the Provisional ballot based on the absence of a cure.
        1. Forrester moved to accept the recommendation of Mrs. Rudolph regarding the Provisional ballot.
        2. Webb seconded the motion.
        3. Vote: All in favor
      2. Ms. Rudolph read the Official and Complete Results
        1. Forrester moved to certify the results as read and printed.
        2. Webb seconded the motion.
        3. Vote: all in favor
  • All members signed the Consolidation and Certification of Results to be submitted to the Secretary of State’s office.
  • Business and Information from Board Members and Staff
    1. Mr. Forrester: none
    2. Mr. Walden: none
    3. Ms. Parker: none
    4. Ms. Webb: none
    5. Mr. Patten: none
    6. Mrs. Rudolph: next Board meeting will be June 4, 2024, at 4:30PM since there is no Runoff Election for Putnam. Mrs. Rudolph informed the Board that the county attorney would be present at that meeting to answer the many questions that we may have regarding the vacancy left by Commissioner McElhenney’s passing. Mrs. Rudolph shared that the Board of Commissioners have requested that she speak and any of the Board of Elections members be present as they see fit to discuss the next steps that need to be taken with regards to the Special Election to fill the vacancy of the current term of Commissioner McElhenney as well as a possible Special Primary and Special Election for the next term.
