Absentee By Mail-
- You can download an application here and email to elections@ber.putnam-ga.gov
- You can call the office at (706) 485-8683 and request to have one sent to you.
- You can fill one out online.
All Absentee By Mail ballots can be returned through USPS or by using the drop box at the Putnam County Board of Elections. The drop box is located INSIDE the office and is only open during Early Voting days and hours, listed above. The mail box OUTSIDE is NOT a ballot drop box and any ballots placed in there after office hours will be rejected until the voter can be contacted to come place the ballot in the ballot drop box INSIDE the office.
- All UOCAVA voters(Military Overseas, Military Stateside, Overseas Temporary Citizen, Overseas Permanent Citizen) can register to vote and request a ballot at the same time on the FPCA website. If you are a UOCAVA voter and already registered to vote, you can also follow the Absentee by Mail options above, just be sure to indicate your UOCAVA status on the back of the application and if EBD(Electronic Ballot Delivery) is requested, please be sure that you put the email address that you want the EBD sent to.
UOCAVA ballots must be returned via physical mail. No ballot, even those delivered to UOCAVA voters through EBD(Electronic Ballot Delivery), will be accepted if returned to the registrar by any other method. Unlike normal absentee ballots, UOCAVA ballots postmarked by election day can be received up to 3 days following election day and still be counted.
